Three state-run hospitals pass inspections
While the Beatrice State Developmental Center continues
to face problems, Nebraska’s three other state-run hospitals have passed
recent inspections.
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services said Friday that the facilities in Lincoln and Hastings received full accreditation from the Joint Commission. And the Norfolk hospital passed review by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The announcement comes a day after the department said it was appealing a negative review of the Beatrice center that jeopardizes its federal funding. The review noted four violations related to the care of mentally retarded patients and found three jeopardy situations that were remedied before inspectors left the facility.
