Public Relations
Public and media relations play a big role in our ability to be effective advocates. The Arc of Nebraska works to keep the media informed of our positions on important issues. We also publicize the good work of our members, volunteers, and staff through our quarterly FOCUS newsletter. Public relations activities also include working with local chapters, disability organizations, community groups, corporations and other statewide organizations to ensure that our message is getting out.
Membership Services
We maintain an agency mailing list. We assist in processing memberships sent by the local chapters and consult to generate further membership within the organization.
Ways in which we promote membership include an annual Senatorial Dinner, Annual Convention, and representing The Arc on various task forces and committees.
The For Members Only section of our website provides an avenue of exchange of information among individual members, local chapters, Arc of Nebraska committees, and board members. This section is only accessible to members and is password protected.
Chapter Services
The Arc of Nebraska acts as a communication link between the local chapters, the state chapter and the national chapter of The Arc to ensure that information flows smoothly between these entities, particularly information in the areas of membership, public relations and resources for families.
