Shortened School Days |
PP |
Students with disabilities are often sent home from school early due to behavioral challenges. Just as students with specific learning disabilities need specially designed instruction in order to learn skills in the areas of their disabilities, students who experience behavioral challenges need to be taught the behavioral skills they lack. For this to happen, those students must be in school. When are shortened days appropriate? When are they not appropriate? Watch this presentation to learn how to understand challenging behaviors as signs of educational needs and to assert your child’s right to stay in school for a full day. |

Yet families, students, and even school staff often do not know what it is, why it is important, and how to navigate it successfully.
